Si MENUL first got up actually by accident, when the owner got a recipe for cilok meatballs from a friend.
Si MENUL didirikan pada akhir tahun 2017, berlokasi di Jl. Ronggowarsito Gg. Kenanga, Kelurahan Karangtengah, Kabupaten Ngawi dan masih berada di lokasi yang sama sejak Si MENUL pertama kali di produksi.
Awal mula berdirinya Si MENUL sebenarnya karena ketidaksengajaan, saat mendapat sebuah resep bakso cilok dari teman. Setelah dieksekusi dan mencoba dibuat ternyata resep tersebut lebih menyerupai bakso, dan terlalu enak jika disebut bakso cilok. Karena memang awalnya berencana ingin menjadikan resep tersebut sebagai bisnis, namun jika tetap menjadikan bisnis dengan berjualan bakso untuk saat ini terlalu banyak pedagang bakso yang sudah lebih dahulu menjalankan bisnis dengan pelanggan yang sudah lebih banyak tentunya.
“Terlalu banyak saingan kalo untuk berjualan bakso saja, sudah terlalu biasa,” ujar Puspa Tanjung Asrining Puri yang sehari-hari bertugas menghandle promo, marketing dan orderan dari pelanggan.
Dibantu oleh Ibu Suminah yang hobi mengolah masakan, berawal dari iseng akhirnya adonan resep bakso tadi dimasukkan ke kulit tahu pong yang dibeli di pasar.
“Setelah kami rasakan kok ternyata enak dan rasanya masuk, pada saat itu pedagang dan bisnis tahu bakso masih jarang kami temui di kota Ngawi.” Akhirnya perempuan yang akrab disapa Mbak Puspa ini memberanikan diri untuk memposting di akun media sosial Facebook dan juga WhatsApp. Menawarkan ke beberapa teman kantor suaminya di Pemkab Ngawi.
Tidak disangka respon teman-teman Facebook dan WhatsApp Mbak Puspa sangat luar biasa. Atas izin Allah orderan datang bertubi-tubi. Berawal dari rasa penasaran ingin mencoba rasa tahu bakso- karena memang untuk di wilayah Jawa Timur sendiri produk tahu bakso masih sangat jarang ditemui. Kemudian bertahap minggu-minggu setelahnya repeat order mulai berdatangan dari pelanggan, yang awalnya pesan 10 potong tahu bakso kemudian naik menjadi 20 potong, naik lagi di orderan selanjutnya menjadi 50 potong, 100 potong tahu bakso dalam sekali order.
“Juga pernah ada beberapa instansi dan perkantoran yang memesan dalam jumlah banyak, sepertinya kolektif pesanan teman-teman kantor, dari teman yang bekerja di Kejaksaan Madiun misalnya, memesan sampai 400 tahu bakso, ada juga yang pernah jadi langganan dari Badan Pertanahan Nasional Jakarta Selatan yang sekali pesan bisa 100 sd 200 tahu bakso setiap 2 s.d. 3 minggu sekali, juga yang sampai saat ini masih sering order dalam jumlah banyak ada pelanggan setia dari Galeri Indosat Kediri,” cerita Mbak Puspa.
1. Awal Mula Muncul Nama Si MENUL
Awal mula muncul nama Si MENUL adalah ide dari seorang kenalan desain grafis di kota Semarang yang diminta tolong untuk membuat logo produk. Beliau menyarankan nama “Si MENUL” dipakai karena unik, mudah diingat, dan sangat mewakili produk itu sendiri.
Banyaknya testimoni pelanggan yang memberikan komentar bahwa menurut mereka produk Si MENUL ini memang beda dari produk-produk Tahu Bakso yang beredar di pasaran. Isi dagingnya yang full dan teksturnya menul-menul, juga kulit tahu nya yang garing dan krispi membuat perpaduan yang unik saat dikonsumsi hangat. Dipadukan dengan warna logo kuning dan merah yang secara psikologis sangat menggugah selera.
Promosi yang dilakukan memang banyak melalui akun media social Facebook @puspa.puri, Instagram @simenul.tahubakso dan juga status di WhatsApp, itulah yang kemudian membuat Si MENUL Tahu Bakso ini banyak sekali mendapat orderan dari luar kota.
Justru untuk wilayah kabupaten Ngawi sendiri, Si MENUL kurang banyak orang yang tahu. Di satu sisi permintaan dari luar kota hampir merata di beberapa kota di pulau Jawa, mulai dari Serang-Banten, Jabodetabek, Karawang, Cikampek, Purwakarta, Cirebon, Kuningan, untuk wilayah Jawa Tengah mulai dari Grobogan, Magelang, Banjarnegara, Boyolali, Semarang, Jogja, Solo, dan hampir di berbagai kota di Jawa Timur mulai dari Magetan sampai dengan Banyuwangi.

Terdapat 2 varian rasa produk Si MENUL Tahu Bakso, yaitu varian original dan pedas. Saat ini varian original masih yang paling banyak diorder akan tetapi penggemar pedas pun juga banyak. Karena rasa pedas yang ditawarkan adalah rasa pedas yang nyaman dan masih bisa dinikmati oleh khalayak.
“Jika dihitung persentase setiap bulannya kira-kira sekitar 30% permintaan varian pedas dari total produksi,” kata Ibu Suminah yang memproduksi hampir mendekati angka 2.000 potong tahu bakso setiap bulannya.
Ke depannya Si MENUL Tahu Bakso akan menambah beberapa varian rasa dalam waktu dekat ini, kita tunggu saja kira kira apa yang akan disajikan oleh Si MENUL. Juga berencana menambah produk pendamping yaitu saus petis udang pedas yang bisa diorder terpisah jika menginginkan. Sepertinya memang cocok sekali jika Tahu Bakso dipadukan dengan cocolan petis udang, sangat menggugah selera.
Ibu Suminah dan Mbak Puspa selaku pemilik bisnis Si MENUL, melakukan 2 sampai 3 kali proses produksi dalam satu minggu dengan kisaran 500 s.d. 600 potong tahu bakso dibuat setiap minggunya. Produk tersebut kemudian dibekukan selama 2x24 jam di dalam freezer lalu berlanjut untuk dikemas dalam wadah plastik kedap udara dengan menggunakan alat vacuum sealer dan kemudian produk siap dikirim kepada para pelanggan.
“Alhamdulillah sampai dengan hari ini produk yang kami produksi selalu habis dengan cepat, jadi bisa dikatakan produk yang kami kirimkan ke pelanggan adalah produk yang baru saja melewati proses produksi dan fresh, jarang ada stok lama yang tersisa,” ungkap Mbak Puspa.
3. Produk Tahu Bakso Si MENUL Dapat Bertahan Lama dengan Mempertahankan Kualitas Produk
Si MENUL Tahu Bakso ini bisa bertahan 4 hari di perjalanan, terkirim dalam keadaan beku dalam wadah plastik kedap udara. Jika pelanggan ingin menyimpan sebaiknya disimpan di kulkas bisa bertahan 2 minggu dan disimpan di freezer bisa bertahan hingga 1 bulan lebih. Untuk mengkonsumsi bisa dibiarkan terlebih dahulu di suhu ruang hingga bekunya hilang kemudian tinggal di kukus atau digoreng sesuai selera.
